About the
Aroma Foundation
Where it begins
In the Kenyan villages at the Equator and in the primary schools of the villages of the northern states of India—places where there is a shortage of access to education—there is an infinite desire for knowledge and a strong passion for learning and reading. Because we have seen these circumstances ourselves, we hope to bring an opportunity for these children who are eager to read. We have begun our work, with our motto: "start from my side, start from little things, and start from now."
Giving children a chance to read is offering them a platform to go out and fully enjoy the world. These trips can be very short term, just like a weekend visit to a neighborhood, where you learn about your neighbors. These trips can also be longer, like traveling around the world, and seeing people with different appearances and different cultures. Regardless of length, these travel experiences are valuable. Books are like cars—they can transport children around the world through their imaginations. A good book means a better car that can carry children to even further places, with different stories and magnificent vistas.
We set up libraries in small cities and villages, aiming to enrich these children's experiences and enrich their childhoods. If children can read for only a few minutes after school, they will most likely enjoy richer and more colorful lives. If teenagers can learn to read and gain more knowledge, they may more easily find jobs in the future.
We firmly believe that it takes ten years to plant trees and a hundred years to build people. When the Aroma Foundation brings books to thousands of children in the villages and towns, those places will eventually bloom even more beautiful flowers.

Volunteers say

Han
As the saying goes, “Read a lot of books and travel a long way.” We cannot support the kids to travel the world, however, giving them a chance to read is another way of showing the world to them.

Teacher JIANG
Aroma Foundation aims to help countryside schools to build libraries. Students can improve their abilities through reading more books.

Xue Li
The charity activity is great. It’s very helpful to inspire country kids and their self-confidence. Young volunteers start to know the meaning of “charity”. It feels like Grandma Houxiang is still with us.

Le Le
We can send our love to those who really need it. I hope that the kids in the countryside will have good books to read. Knowledge changes destiny.

Xiao Chen
Although our efforts are just a beginning, they still support children who need them. May those who sow in tears reap with shouts of joy.

Ji
We do our charity work together in a reflective place, far away from the noisy city. We hope that more and more kids love to read so their lives can be richer.

I really enjoyed this activity. I can send books to other friends and help them to decorate the room. I will always join in.
